Winston Speedway Launches “Track Gives Back” Program Offering Free Community Meals

ROTHBURY, MI — The team behind Winston Speedway is expanding its commitment to community engagement with the launch of a new outreach initiative called “Track Gives Back.” The program will provide free meals every Tuesday and Wednesday throughout the month of November at the Rothbury Community Center.

The initiative is being led by speedway owners Andrew and Crystal Heykoop, who say the program is designed to support local families and strengthen community connections during the fall and early holiday season.

“This community has supported our family and our businesses for generations,” said Andrew Heykoop. “This is one small way we can show our appreciation and give back to the people who have always given so much to us.”

Strengthening Community Bonds
The Track Gives Back program aims to create a welcoming environment where residents can gather, enjoy a warm meal, and spend time with neighbors and friends. Organizers say the meals are open to anyone in the community, with no cost and no eligibility requirements.

Crystal Heykoop emphasized that the effort is about more than just providing food.

“We want this to be a place where people feel welcomed and supported,” Crystal said. “Sometimes the best thing you can offer someone is a good meal and a chance to sit down together. Our community has always stepped up for us, and this is our way of stepping up for them.”

A Growing Community Mission
The Track Gives Back program is part of a broader vision by the Heykoop family to make Winston Speedway a community-centered venue that supports local residents year-round, not just during racing season.

Since acquiring the Rothbury racing facility, the Heykoops have spoken publicly about their desire to use the speedway as a platform for community outreach, charitable events, and local partnerships. The meal program is expected to involve volunteers, local sponsors, and area businesses who want to help support the initiative.

Community Encouraged to Participate
Organizers say community members are encouraged to attend, volunteer, or partner with the program as it grows. The meals will be served each Tuesday and Wednesday in November at the Rothbury Community Center, with additional details about serving times expected to be announced closer to the launch of the program.

Andrew Heykoop said the initiative reflects the values that have guided his family’s businesses for decades.

“Success means nothing without community,” he said. “We want people to know Winston Speedway isn’t just about racing — it’s about people, families, and giving back whenever we can.”

Community leaders have already expressed optimism about the program, noting that initiatives like Track Gives Back help strengthen local ties and provide meaningful support to residents during the colder months.
Further updates about volunteer opportunities and program details are expected to be released by Winston Speedway in the coming weeks.
